Wild Crete
The open horizons on the unlimited blue, the dried salt on the skin, the sound of the sea, the hot sand under the feet, the warm golden sunset light that leads us far away from the daily thoughts.
The loud noise of the cicadas hitting the ears during the torrid hours of the early afternoon, the smell of the local herbs coming up from the burning earth, the landscapes celebrating a wild and unspoiled beauty where time regains its proper dimension.
In one word, sea, in particular the one of the south-east coasts of Crete, which face the part of Mediterranean that here takes the name of Libyan sea.
A land that gifts intense charm both from the long beaches jumping into the crystal-clear waters and from the gorges climbing up to the mountain cliffs inland.
Rough views of rocky and bare scenarios alternate with infinite shades of blue, just turning your head.
The gusts of Meltemi caresses and lash to remember us the beauty and the power of nature, undisputed ruler of atmospheres and landscapes.
Spontaneous smiles enlighten the faces, marked by sun, wind and salt, enveloping in a single look the essence and the authenticity of these territories.
A hospitality still keeping its original value, precious gift of the people met while exploring the island.
Through gestures and long chats jumping between Greek and Italian we try to understand each other. A laugh and a handshake are all we need.
We just have to thank these days of pure pleasure and appreciate the rich simplicity of these places and their people. Efharistò.
